[Live Review] ALL TIME LOW (Sydney)

The lines around the Horden Pavillion on Saturday night were insane. The line went from the entry all the way to the back of the arena. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more people in one place, all waiting for the same thing. Everyone was waiting to get inside and finally see All Time Low.

The Maine was the first support act to come out and to say the least, they were incredible. I’ve always loved their music and seeing them live made me love them even more. Their onstage presence was the most amazing thing I have ever seen, their persona on stage were so full of energy and a willingness to show the crowd a good time. Everyone in the mosh pit was singing and dancing along and the energy was incredible.

Next was Neck Deep. The crowd really seemed to love these guys. Everyone seemed to know all the words to all their songs and the mosh pit was going crazy. Neck Deep played some of their hit songs including ‘Serpents’ and ‘Rock Bottom’, which the crowd jumped out of their seat for. Both opening acts succeeded on their job of hyping the crowd up and preparing them for the headliner, All Time Low.

The moment that All Time Low came on stage, the feeling in the room changed. Everyone’s excitement levels seemed to be through the roof as they opened with their hit song ‘Weightless’ from their 2009 album, Nothing Personal. As the opening line was sung, the whole crowd sung along too. I don’t think there was a moment where the crowd wasn’t singing along with Alex Gaskarth (lead singer). The crowd was hooked on his every word, belting out every line along with him.

The band played a mix of songs from their oldest albums to their newest. It didn’t matter which album the song was off, the crowd was still singing along to every word. I’ve never seen an entire arena singing every single word of every single song, including the support acts songs, so this was a really surreal moment for me. As a lover for music, it made me feel amazing. The support of the fans for this band was incredible, you could feel the love just by standing in the mosh pit.

To finish off the night, All Time Low’s encore included ‘Lost In Stereo’, ‘Jasey Rae’ and ‘Dear Maria, Count Me In’. The band also surprised the crowd by performing a cover of ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, Journey’s biggest hit. In my opinion, the three songs sung in the encore were the best choices because they really got the crowd going. Even though it was the end of the night, energies were still running high and the crowd was unstoppable. After being a band for 14 years, All Time Low still knows how to bring their absolute all to the stage and perform one of the best shows I have ever seen. If you ever get the chance to see All Time Low live, I highly recommend doing it.
