The grand Concert Hall welcomes two gilded voices in March next year, with Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant in his Sydney Opera House debut and an intimate performance from Sweden’s acoustic genius José González.
Robert Plant returns to Australia with his band the Sensational Space Shifters where each night audiences will journey through his unique musical life including rare performances of Led Zeppelin hits for fans to experience the full power of his legendary vocal prowess. With a new album Carry Fire, and the incredible 2018 milestone; marking 50 years since Led Zeppelin’s first self-titled album was released, it promises to be a powerful show.
Following two spellbinding sold-out Opera House shows in 2016, Sweden’s balladeer José González returns to the Concert Hall solo, armed with just his voice and a guitar for a special evening of enduring songcraft and indie-folk sensibility. His mesmerising acoustics are perfectly reflected in a venue such as the Concert Hall, just as they were in the surrounds of Shell A3, an intimate little-known Opera House interior where José filmed an episode of the Nooks & Crannies series last year. His hauntingly beautiful acoustic covers of Massive Attack, Joy Division and The Knife’s ‘Heartbeats’ alongside a collection of intricate and emotive solo work has cemented the singer-songwriter as ”one of the most profound musical voices of his generation” (Huffington Post).
