Busby Marou is set to take their gifted musicianship distinctly Australian storytelling and on the road for the Farewell Fitzroy headline national tour.

Since the release of their debut self-titled album two years ago, Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou have travelled the far corners of the globe. Tom’s playful onstage presence combined with Jeremy’s freakish instrumental ability has cemented their reputation as one of the most loved live bands to come out of Australia in recent times.

Meanwhile, their offstage antics have informed the songs for their second album Farewell Fitzroy (out Friday 4 October) and the lyrics read like an adventure of irreverence.

Anthemic and rich with the rootsy duo’s acclaimed harmonies, first single ‘Get You Out Of Here’ is a soulful taste of what fans can expect from the diverse outfit’s upcoming record.

Recorded with US producer/engineer Brad Jones (Missy Higgins, Josh Rouse, Justin Townes Earle) in April 2013 at his Nashville studio, Alex The Great Recording. Busby Marou were determined to capture new songs with their full band sound and were joined by tour buddies Damon ‘DJ’ Syme (drums, percussion), Vincenzo Russo (bass) and Vaughan Jones (piano, keys, electric xylophone).

Busby Marou are incredibly proud of the new album can’t wait to share it with the masses on their national album tour in October and November. They are bringing their mates Harry Hookey and Nat Dunn to round out one of the most complete and diverse live bills.

The band’s debut album is just shy of gold and was nominated for APRA, Deadly, NIMA and Queensland Music awards. It also saw them touring with artists as diverse as Birds Of Tokyo and Dolly Parton and all things between as well as playing at SXSW, Canadian Music Week, Bluesfest and Woodford to name a few.

Their first single ‘Biding My Timetook’ out the APRA for Best Blues & Roots song and came in at #81 on the 2012 triple J Hottest 100. They also recorded the Cyndi Lauper classic ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ for Like A Version that ended up coming in at the #2 most voted Like A Version for that year.

Unpretentious, best mates, and always ready to have fun, Farewell Fitzroy is Busby Marou’s finest hour yet.
