A huge all ages show has been announced for Drone on Saturday, May 7. ‘You Call That A Mixed Bill?’ sees some of the most exciting bands from different genres collide under the one roof.

Newcastle’s Flight To Dubai are the perfect band to headline, bringing in influences from Funk, Grunge, and Shoegaze while singer Matt Abell-King channels Nick Cave and Johnny Rotten in an explosive live show.

“Rowdy, rebellious, and groovy in all the right ways” (Friends + Lovers), from the opening sax line, Sydney’s Jackie Brown Jr let you know it’s time to party. The self-described Pulp Fiction Soul Rockers are coming back to Newcastle for their first all ages appearance.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Spencer Scott will be delivering his own personal brand of intimate songs. Having supported everyone from David Le’aupepe (Gang Of Youths) to the Dead Kennedys, Scott is no stranger to a diverse line-up.

Local punks Rort Menace are taking a break from recording their new EP to bring a fiery and abrasive set that hails back to the glory days of 80’s Hardcore and 90’s Skate Punk.

‘You Call This A Mixed Bill’? is also the Newcastle debut of Sydney emo four-piece Casa Loma, who will be showcasing raw and passionate songs from their upcoming release.

Taking place at Drone – Newcastle’s only dedicated All Ages venue – ‘You Call That A Mixed Bill?’ blends indie, soul, folk, punk and emo into a deliciously entertaining night of music.
