The spirited, smoky vocals of emerging Sydney singer/songwriter Iluka will be filling venues across the country this coming August, as the enchanting twenty-one year old ventures out on her first national tour in support of her upcoming Glory Days EP release – her first on Liberation Music, and her first since winning the coveted First Break competition in late 2012.
Furthermore, in anticipation of title track ‘Glory Days’ later this month, Iluka unveils EP track ‘Sweet Marianne’ as a free download. A first look into Iluka’s new recordings, including sessions with Pip Norman (TZU, Sparkadia, Ash Grunwald), ‘Sweet Marianne’ is available HERE as of today.
Evoking memories of Edith Piaf, Janis Joplin and Dusty Springfield, the refreshing old-soul that is Iluka has begun a bold quest to fuse half a century of music’s greatest elements to create something as unique as it is affecting. With a bold and vibrant look to match her sound, Iluka has shared the stage with acts as varied as Clairy Browne & the Bangin’ Rackettes, Matt Corby, The Rubens, and Georgia Fair.
