It can today be announced that London’s KING KRULE, aka Archy Marshall, will play headline East Coast dates on his return Australian visit in March. In addition to an already announced appearance at Golden Plains festival, Marshall will take in Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Monday 5th March, Brisbane’s The Triffid on Tuesday 6th March and Melbourne’s The Croxton Bandroom on Thursday 8th March.

Since his last Australian visit in 2014, during which he played the national St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Marshall has released acclaimed music under a range of different monikers, including Hypnodisc, Edgar the Beatmaker and his own name Archy Marshall, and recently launched a new capsule fashion collection in collaboration with Babylon LA.

Marshall blurred the boundaries of music and art with his 2015 release, A New Place 2 Drown, which was accompanied by a book of his poetry and artwork, along with a short film directed by Will Robson-Scott. Released in October, the sophomore album from King Krule, The OOZ, is “the richest and most immersive album the London singer-songwriter has made yet… a masterpiece of jaundiced vision from one of the most compelling artists alive.” – Pitchfork

It’s a dense, sprawling offering, drifting and seeping through the cracks of South London. Across 19 tracks, Marshall casts an unflinching eye over his kingdom, transforming his observations of all the disorientation and heartbreak of his youth into piercing narratives and poetry that are both startlingly honest and brutally beautiful. With The OOZ, Marshall finally takes the crown as poet laureate for the dazed and confused generation, painting a bleak and sometimes harrowing picture of a rapidly splintering city.

King Krule closes out 2017 with sold out headline tour dates through Europe and the UK, including stops at Casino De Paris, London’s Koko and Academy in Dublin.

A master of creating soundscapes that are equal parts dark and despairing, yet suffused with beauty and underscored by Marshall’s soaring vocals, audiences will lose themselves to King Krule’s live performances.
