Renowned for their carefully curated line-up of top-tier Australian talent, Mountain Sounds Festival last week announced Brisbane ratbags Dune Rats as the first act on the bill. Today cements the event as a mainstay in the calendar of any discerning festival-goer, with a full line-up announcement sporting another year of quality music, happening on the Central Coast on 17-18 February 2017.
Now in its fourth year and having sold out two years in a row, the 2017 line up features electronic poster people, RÜFÜS on headline duties, along with indie-rock outfit DMA’s, award-winning powerhouse Ngaiire, nomadic pop/punk princess Bec Sandridge, the sun-bleached guitar-driven sounds of Mosquito Coast, plus many more.
The destination festival has proven its standout place in the music festival calendar with previous sold out events sporting first-class acts such as Violent Soho, Albert Hammond Jr (The Strokes), Alison Wonderland, DZ Deathrays, SAFIA, Tkay Maidza, and Alpine. The 2017 edition once again proves why it’s a weekend not to be missed.
Returning to the picturesque surrounds of Mount Penang Parklands in Kariong, NSW, the festival is situated halfway between Sydney and Newcastle. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to take in the natural beauty and cultural delights of the Central Coast as well as the chance to sleep under the stars, with the option to camp on Friday and Saturday night.
