[News] NEWCASTLE’S THE DELTA LIONS RELEASE ‘POST CODE’

DLTGN201302-2

On the 17th of August, Newcastle band The Delta Lions will release the follow up to their 2012 debut Magnetic South. The album is titled Post Code and features nine songs in total, once again recorded with a complete DIY approach by guitarist/singer Michael Ferfoglia and drummer Mat Taylor in Taylor’s home studio, ‘Scabbey Road.’

The album has been mastered by Simon Struthers of Forensic Audio Mastering whose credits include Bob Evans, Paul Dempsey, Something For Kate, Papa Vs Pretty and the Tucker B’s. The artwork has been completed again by Dan Phelan of Safety Pin design using some amazing photos taken from ‘Newcastle – The Missing Years’ by Greg & Sylvia Ray.

The Delta Lions have come a long way in just a few years. A hard work ethic of writing, rehearsing and constant gigging has helped the band deliver a collection of songs destined to be remembered by people who know good rock and roll long after they decide to call it a day. You could liken the songs to the sum of The Replacements, The Plimsouls and Drive By Truckers, but The Delta Lions definitely have a sound all of their own. Kind of rock, kind of country, kind of bloody good really.

To support the release of Post Code, The Delta Lions have a tour confirmed that will see the band play dates in Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Canberra, Brisbane and for the first time, Melbourne.
