[News] N’FA JONES RELEASES ‘BLACK & WHITE NOISE’ AND HITS THE ROAD

N'FA JONES-2

N’fa Jones, the guy from Oz’s ol-school beloved multi genre band, 1200 Techniques, is delivering a full LP of new collaborative music. Black + White Noise is a diverse and dynamic scope of music, journeying through the dark and light soundscapes of Hip Hop, future beats, soul and roots. Through rap verse and sung melodies, N’fa Jones conveys his personal struggles and joys for the listener to relate to, and grow with, on beats to make your head sway heavily. The album, Black + White Noise features production by Sensible J and Dutch, Ta-Ku, Styalz Fuego, Matt Kent and Billy Hoyle and is set for release April 4, 2014.

For those in Melbourne, you have the exclusive chance to join N’fa for an intimate album listening party with the man himself on Wednesday April 2 at Ferdy Durke from 9pm. And for everyone else around the country, Nfa is heading back out on the road in May with Joelistics and Dialectrics.

Over the years, N’fa’s style has attracted collaborations with international legends such as Roots Manuva, Daedelus, Rodney P, Dobie and TY – all of whom have been influential in N’fa’s creative growth towards Black + White Noise. First single from the album, ‘Life’s A Game’ was a catch up on N’fa Jones’ new take on life and what he’s been though over the past few years: living abroad, feeling unstuck, becoming a father, returning home to Oz with his new family, and finding a balance in life.

Second single ‘Money Better Come’ offers an interesting twist with tongue in cheek lyrics and N’fa Jones singing (yes singing) the melodies, whilst current single ‘Confidence’ flows with a familiar confidence and swagger that we’ve come to know love from N’fa Jones offerings over the years. ‘Confidence’ is about having the confidence to stick to you guns and believe in yourself, to recognise when people, situations, or one’s own self are keeping you in a choker hold that you need to break from in order to find the opulence within. A bouncing buzzy beat that blends the Golden Era Hip-Hop with future beats, heavy raps, a melodic hook, and a live backyard recorded outro to give a final sense of peace and ascension.

Since returning home to Australian shores N’fa has been one busy fella. Releasing songs ‘Bali Party’ and ‘1990’s’ and heading out on a national tour with old mate, Drapht. N’fa went on to contribute with Charlie Bucket on track ‘Dynamite’. The Life’s A Game tour around Oz saw N’fa and Charlie Bucket rocking some intimate sets in most states. Wrapping up 2013 with a busy New Years, N’fa supported DJ Jazzy Jeff and De La Soul, brought in the New Year with Remi at Falls Festival and smashed the Coconut Club with Charlie Bucket at Southbound.

N’fa Jones says “I’m just so happy to be officially releasing my music. To be doing so with producers and people whom I really love and share true friendship with, is an amazing and humbling gift. I hope you will enjoy this song, and the album. It’s pretty different, but for me, different is a good thing… Different is what I’m all about.”
