PigSty-Program_online

Pigsty in July, the wild little sister of The Gum Ball and Dashville Skyline, is back for 2016.

The one-day bush bash with a “second-hand formal” dress code, will be headlined this year by Kiwi rock juggernaut Shihad. The New Zealand legends, known for their stadium-sized shows, are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 1996 self-titled record – affectionately known as “the fish album”. The band’s third full-length release, features breakthrough single ‘Home Again’ plus fan favourites ‘La La Land’, ‘Ghosts from the Past’ and ‘A Day Away’.

Fans can expect a set of old and new, as Shihad slot tracks from recent record FVEY amongst their live classics including songs from their acclaimed album, The General Electric featuring heavily.

Also helping Pigsty in July bring home the bacon will be Australia’s premier rock steady reggae masters, King Tide – the ARIA-nominated group are custom-built for a good time.

Other artists on the bill include rhythmic fusion group Masco Sound System, high-energy psych-rockers Lepers and Crooks, Newcastle’s incomparable indie act Justin Ngariki & the Darstardly Bastards and the dirty soul of Claire Anne Taylor.

Where The Gum Ball and Dashville Skyline festivals provide a chilled atmosphere punctuated by rock interludes, the “pig day out” is a chance to go hog wild. The over-18 event is a decadent feast of quality boutique beers, fine wines, naughty cocktails and mouth-watering food in the stunning seclusion of Lower Belford’s acclaimed venue, Dashville.

Pigsty in July sold out in 2014 and 2015 and this year’s edition plans to follow that success .

So, gents, dust off your suit, and ladies, slip into your finest dress – all second-hand, of course.

The fully licenced event (no BYO food/alcohol) runs from midday to 10pm, with return Rover coaches available.
