It’s that time of year again folks, Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival are joining forces to deliver another beer soaked, BBQ smoked, epic SXSW party!

Taking The Sidewinder on Wednesday March 15th from 12 noon to 6pm, the Secret Sounds presented showcase will highlight some of the most diverse and eclectic emerging artists from both home and abroad, including fellow Aussies Hockey Dad + Tkay Maidza, who will be joining Norway’s Sigrid + Sløtface, US artists Lo Moon, Topaz Jones, Kaiydo + QTY and UK’s Youngr, Dream Wife + Mullally. A mix bag of electro, hip-hop and rock.

LA electronic trio Lo Moon will grab you by the hand and take you on a blissed out journey through their atmospheric set. You’ll be reaching all sorts of highs as they soar in to the gorgeous 7-minute track ‘Loveless’, leaving you suspended in anticipation.

Paying homage to their hometown, Aussie chillers Hockey Dad will be introducing Texans to the east coast surf-rock vibes of Wollongong, filling the room with lo-fi sounds and hi-fi head bangs. Launching in to hits ‘I Need A Woman’ + ‘Can’t Have Them’ off their debut album Boronia, you won’t be able to resist the urge to get sweaty.

New Jersey’s future of hip-hop Topaz Jones will take to the stage with his funked-up rap verses and chameleonic catalogue. Laying down his philosophy of groove, he will bring out the animal in you with ‘Howlin to the Moon’ and watch you go bananas with ‘Tropicana’, which has had over 1.4 million streams and counting.

Hailing from the UK, Youngr grabbed the attention of his audience via his one-take live performance videos. Having unleashed his massive hit ‘Out Of My System’ in May last year, the track has reached over 18.8 million streams on Spotify. You’ll get to experience the sheer energy and raw talent behind his multi-instrumental performance.

Scandinavian pop-star Sigrid, deemed as the “new Lorde” by The Guardian, has reached massive success with her first single ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’. Climbing to over 4 million streams on Spotify within the first month of release, the 20 year old has been creating a world that emboldens her followers through the power of song. Watch on as she storms the stage with her defiant anthems.

Young rapper Kaiydo will take the party to next level with tracks ‘Jumpin’ + ‘Fruit Punch’. The ‘Colors and Sound’ project on his Soundcloud account, each track inspired by a specific colour, has bought in more than 150,000 plays on his first three tracks, gaining the attention of music magazine Pigeons + Planes and MTV artists.

London’s Dream Wife formed as a “fake band” as part of an art project for a gallery exhibition. The trio wrote a few songs, made a Spinal Tap inspired mockumentary and performed them at the opening night. The fantasy turned reality when the trio started getting gigs around England, toured Canada and signed to Lucky Number. See the ladies ferociously take to the stage with tracks ‘Heartbreaker’ + ‘FUU’.

Tkay Maidza has risen out of the underground to emerge as one of Australia’s most electrifying artists. With her rapid-fire flow, frenetic beats, and fiercely inventive lyrics, the Zimbabwe-born 20-year-old has been shaking up audiences worldwide with her unstoppably magnetic debut album TKAY. Collaborating with Killer Mike on ‘Carry On’ + slaying dance floors with pop-banger ‘Simulation’, you’ll be forced in to a hysteria of dance moves.

New York duo QTY, consisting of Dan Lardner + Alex Niemetz, will be offloading their effortlessly cool, buzzed out tracks ‘Rodeo’ + ‘Dress/Undress’ right in front of your very eyes. Jam-packing their set with their quintessential New York rock sound, you’ll feel like you’ve just witnessed the birth of The Strokes and The Velvet Underground’s love child.

UK’s hugely talented, pop-soul artist Mullally is bringing his sun-drenched vocals and zesty hooks to the party, featuring his hit ‘Wonderful’ which has clocked over 2.7 million streams on Spotify. Having sold out a headline show at Soho House in LA, he was quickly picked up to support some of the UK’s most revered artists including Jess Glynne, Clean Bandit and Akala.

Wrapping it up but definitely not winding it down, Norwegian punk rockers Sløtface will be turning the dial up to peak party mode. Unleashing their thrashing guitars and thumping drum beats across the four walls of The Sidewinder, ‘Empire Records’ + Take Me Dancing’ will have you losing your mind and gasping for more.

Good news, entry is FREE, but demand for this one is going to be strong, so please note: admittance is dependent on capacity – RSVP at our event page here.
