Get ready! True folk troubadour Steve Poltz will be making his second trip to Australia this year. The Nova Scotia-born, San Diego raised, Nashville based all-rounder 98 pounder will spend one month criss-crossing our grateful shores, following up on his festival run earlier this year which included Nannup, Port Fairy, Blue Mountains and the National Folk Festival.

On the back of his latest record release, Folksinger, Poltz will be showcasing a new collection of loveable songs featuring recent crowd favourites ‘I Want All My Friends To Be Happy’, ‘Mother Russia’, along with the title track of the new album. The forthcoming tour includes a performance at Queenscliff Music Festival in Victoria before Steve turns up the heat on a massive tour that takes in venues across NSW, VIC, WA, SA and TAS and runs from late November right through to Christmas eve.

Among the music community, Steve Poltz is regarded as one of the most talented and prolific songwriters of our time. His songs have been among the longest running ever on the Billboard Top 100. Poltz’s music regularly appears in movie soundtracks, TV shows and commercials, and he is often referred to as the guy who famously co-wrote the timeless ballad ‘You Were Meant For Me’ with platinum-selling songwriter Jewel. His touring schedule is ferocious, ping ponging between continents with enough frequency to earn him cult followings in scores of different accents and languages.

Steve Poltz’s love affair with Australia has been a long running one too, and this tour will be his 17th time Down Under. He’s excited. Just ask him. “To say I’m excited would be a gross understatement. I love Austria. I mean Australia. Shoot, I love everywhere. I’m just happy to be on this side of the grass. I even purchased new underwear and socks!
