Port Macquarie’s Wildwood festival continues to gain momentum as it approaches its third year with an impressive line-up, proving this to be one of the annual shining jewels in the Australian boutique festival crown.

Located just four hours north of Sydney, Port Macquarie gets set to deliver the first day of daylight savings and complete escapism in the form of the Wildwood Festival, delivering a carefully handcrafted collective of the best homegrown talent festival people could ask for.

A magical energy radiates from the natural beauty of the forest like surroundings and laid back atmosphere that Wildwood presents, bringing out the best in performers and crowds alike providing the perfect place in which to experience new and familiar sounds over the October long weekend.

On Sunday October 2nd at Port Macquarie’s Cassegrains Winery, the All Ages event will feature Blue King Brown, Montaigne, Claude Hay, The Lyrical, Mar Haze, James Bennett, Roy Rose, Benje Travis, Lauren Edwards, Sam Verkoute and Royal Chant.

Hailed by Santana as “The voice of the street and the band of the future!” Blue King Brown, ARIA nominated artist, is Australia’s premier live urban roots powerhouse. Their cross generational groove and socially conscious sound is led by the multi-talented, relentless energy of Natalie Pa’apa’a. Powerful vocal and lyrical deliveries meet a dance hall, roots, rock and afro groove mash-up built on an irrepressible percussive foundation.

Montaigne, born Jessica Cerro, is a 20 year old dynamo rolling out the welcome mat with the delightful new single ‘Because I Love You’. A wildly infectious pop tune hiding the post-mortem of a relationship, with no sign of beige pop music and musicians with nothing to say.

Organiser Simon Leigh says the festival has been growing organically over the past three years with this year’s Wildwood being the biggest and most exciting to date. “Last year we knew we had reached new heights with the festival which has traditionally been attended by local folks. It’s been so well received we decided to ramp it up a notch and encourage like-minded festival people from Brisbane to Sydney to come. At the conclusion of last year’s event, the whole forest filled with fireflies as punters were leaving the venue and adults and kids alike were covered from head to toe illuminated in their sparkling aurora, it was truly a magical ending to a really special day”.
