[CD Review] SICK PUPPIES – Connect

Sick-Puppies-Connect-Album-Cover-Artwork-2

New album Connect by Sick Puppies thoroughly showcases the dynamic sound of the band. The songs are catchy, but also relatable and real stories.

Within the tracks ‘Die to Save You’, ‘Healing Now’, and ‘Under a Very Black Sky’, a female vocalist is sweet and the perfect compliment to the lead male vocals that are strong and have a crisp clear sound throughout the tracks. The album is easy to listen to with its heavy rock songs and softer ballads.

‘Run’, ‘There’s No Going Back’ and ‘Connect’ really stood out to me as their lyrics were strong, inspirational and motivational. Listeners forge a bond with bands and musicians who tell their story in their lyrics in which they can relate to them and understand the story.

With the simplicity of the drums and acoustic guitar complementing each other I was taken with ‘Poison’ and ‘The Trick The Devil Did’. Overall, I enjoyed how each song was very unique and created a very diverse album.
