[CD Review] JACOB PEARSON – Places We Know

Jacob-Pearson-Places-We-know

Places We Know is the latest EP for Central Coast based Indie/Folk purveyor. Teaming with emotion, spark and connectivity, Pearson’s indie pop/soft-rock sound conjures up a yearning that will have you listening again and again; With inescapable silken vocals conjuring the individuality and force to match his ambitious songwriting.

Opening with the smooth, dulcet flow of ‘Honey’ and then taking a welcomed turn into the intimately blues-ridden, somewhat lustful ‘A Collision’, before taking another turn into a more buoyant ‘I Won’t Chase The Sun’ before plunging into ‘Footprints’, drenched in infectious ukulele and a oceanic, seafaring sound, topped off with an impressive whistle solo. At this point I’m craving more… and more is exactly what I got, ‘The Drowning Man’ portraying a rapturous, almost chimerical vibe; and then onto the title track, ‘Places We Know’, a lovely, poignant, lyrically bittersweet ending to what freakishly nears a swoon-worthy perfect release.

I cannot be anymore sincere when I implore you to get your hands on this EP. A tragically underrated local artist, with universal potential and a sparkling future ahead.

  1. I took your advice Chloe and grabbed the cd from iTunes. I must say you hit the nails on their many heads with that review. Each track is fresh, new and independent of each other with the common thread being that silky voice of Jacob Pearson that pulls it all together. Some impressive lyrical skills as well. 9/10

    1. Thank you for the correction Sir or Madam Anon.
But I did infact mean “Teaming”… as in reference to the mutual effort or combination of “emotion, spark and connectivity” within the musical content.
The “Teeming” you are referring to would be addressing the amount or quantity of such… which still would make for a fitting sentence but alas, not the direction I wanted to take.

      Kind Regards,
      Chloe.
