[CD Review] SMOKIN’ MIRRORS – Set To Ignite

EP Cover-2

An impeccable choice as the opening track of the EP, ‘Not In My Way’ instantly grabs you with the striking vocals and guitar. The lead vocals on ‘Set to Ignite’ was similar to that of Killing Heidi’s Ella Hooper, ‘State of Mind’ had a softer sound and built up into a strong chorus and ‘Wasted’ was slower and more mellow with a gorgeous use of delay on the vocals creating a very emotive feel to the song.

Production is great and there is an authentic and real feeling that comes from listening to the EP. In every track there are wicked guitar solo’s that really showcase the talent of the lead guitarist. In every song the vocals are strong, diverse and it is evident how passionate she is about her performance.

This EP is groovy and so fun to listen to. Every element of the tracks have been put together perfectly. Every minute of this EP is strong and rich in rock and roll and absolute class. With incredibly strong female vocals, and insanely good guitar solos, you are soaked up into what may only be four tracks long but leaves you feeling satisfied after listening all the way through and cannot help but listen again.
