[CD Review] STICKY FINGERS – Caress Your Soul

Sticky Fingers Caress Your Soul Cover Art

The debut album from Sydney 4-piece, Sticky Fingers, flows like an inebriating substance, through your eardrums and into your bloodstream, reminding you just how sweet life can be. It’s the ultimate groove for a sundrenched, barefoot weekend. No matter what you do, a track from this album will be there with you lapping up the Vitamin D and probable intoxication that follows… Its dreamy, it’s transcending and boy has it got soul.

Beginning with the dulcet flow of ‘How to Fly’ and then leading you on further into a 10-track journey of earthy, lustful delight. To put it simply, front-man Dylan Frost’s hypnotic vocal is nothing short of arousing and when met with playful lyric, liquefying guitar and cadenced grooves it all begins to get a little hot in here, there, everywhere.

In terms of highlights there’s just something about the vulnerability of ‘Freddy Crabs’ and the peachy, carefree simplicity of ‘Let It All Out’, not to mention the cordial recognition of singles ‘Clouds and Cream’ and title track ‘Caress Your Soul’ which thankfully have not yet been smothered by radio overplay.

Genre wise, a pleaser and teaser from every angle… good-time Psych Reggae laced with an enticing Dub vibe making for a certified outbreak of abysmal boogie. An infectious and aptly named release, in which earnestly requires your instant attention and good vibes.
