[News] 35th ANNIVERSARY BLUESFEST FIFTH ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT

Bluesfest’s fifth artist announcement today of Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, supergroup Infectious Grooves, Katie Melua and The Waifs, amongst others, adds more star power to an already stellar lineup.

Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals will be playing exclusively for Bluesfest, and Infectious Grooves is a supergroup that includes Robert Trujillo on bass (Metallica), Mike Muir – on vocals (Suicidal Tendencies), Jay Weinberg on drums (Slipknot), Dave Kushner on guitar (Velvet Revolver), and Dean Pleasants on guitar (Suicidal Tendencies).

The best-selling British and European female artist in the 2000s, Katie Melua, returns to Australia for the first time in almost 20 years, and Aussie favourite Brad Cox won a Golden Guitar for ‘Top Selling Country Album of the Year’ last year.

With only 15 weeks to go till Bluesfest kicks off its 35th anniversary special, another artist announcement has been unveiled.

With an already star-studded lineup that includes the Welsh Crooner superstar Tom Jones and Australia’s favourite Hawaiian Jack Johnson, Portugal. The Man, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Taj Mahal, Elvis Costello, ARIA-winning Teskey Brothers, and fan favourites Matt Corby and Ziggy Alberts to name a few, Bluesfest today announced the following artists:

Bluesfest, Australia’s most awarded festival, is thrilled to reveal a sensational second artist announcement for its highly anticipated 35th anniversary of the festival, held next Easter in Byron Bay, NSW.

After the recent unveiling of an incredible initial line-up, Festival Director Peter Noble has turned up the heat with star-studded additions to the program by adding headliners Tedeschi Trucks Band to Tom Jones and Jack Johnson, along with an army of crowd favourites.

Bluesfest’s announcement today of 15 artists, along with the previously announced 23, takes the total to 38 on the line-up so far.

The wait is over! Bluesfest, Australia’s most awarded music festival, has revealed the first wave of headlining artists set to grace the stages at Bluesfest 2024. With an eclectic mix of legendary performers and rising stars, the 35th anniversary of Bluesfest is gearing up to deliver an unforgettable showcase of artists.

Bluesfest, held for five days in Byron Bay over the Easter Long Weekend, has been recognised as one of the Top 10 Festivals of the Decade by the industry bible, Pollstar. Pollstar has also nominated Bluesfest ten times in the Best International Festival category. Bluesfest has also recently been awarded gold for NSW North Coast Tourism Awards and won Gold for Best Festival or Event at the NSW Tourism Awards in 2022.

Bluesfest Festival Director Peter Noble said today, “These incredible artists are just the beginning: there is much more to come!
