[News] AUSTRALIAN MUSIC WEEK 2019 – FIRST ARTISTS AND SPEAKERS

The fifth annual Australian Music Week Conference is proud to announce its first round of performing acts, panels & speakers … and what a sizzling mix of music artists and industry panels it is to kick things off as the Cronulla Beach summer event approaches this November 6 – 10.

AMW 2019 welcomes our Keynote Speaker, Bob Lefsetz – U.S. music industry legend, podcaster & author of the email newsletter, The Lefsetz Letter. The Santa Monica based industry analyst is renowned for his passionate take on the music industry’s state of play & current issues – from streaming and ticketing through to the music itself.

There will be plenty of live music on offer with over 120+ emerging music acts set to take over the beachside towns’ venues and hotspots across the five days, including the AMW free open-air Beach Concert series which will wrap up the festival on Sunday November 10 and feature live performances from the likes of Alex Lahey & Ali Barter. The first round of artists confirmed to perform at AMW are:

Australian Music Week is also proud to hold the Sydney premiere of Tommy Emmanuel – The Endless Road. Directed by Jeremy Dylan and produced by Jaime Lewis, the 80 – minute documentary details the rise of the iconic Tommy Emmanuel, from child prodigy to ARIA Award winner & Grammy nominated guitar legend, and features a star studded cast, including Jason Isbell, Eric Idle, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Sir Barry Gibb and more… Winner of ‘Best Music Documentary’ at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival earlier this year, the film will also premiere in Nashville next month. As part of the opening day’s events, AMW will screen The Endless Road at Cronulla Cinemas on Wednesday November 6 from 3.45pm, followed by a Q&A session with Jeremy Dylan and Jaime Lewis. Entry is with a delegates ticket via OZTIX. An extra screening will be shown on Saturday November 9.

AAM Co-Pilot / First Nations Mentor Program: Australian Music Week is proud to partner with AAM as they present the initial workshop for their flagship mentoring program Co-Pilot and their new First Nations Mentorship Program. Through this partnership, the AAM will also be curating a specialised management panel focused on current and future needs of the sector.
