Irish singer, songwriter Dermot Kennedy has officially sold out the second Sydney date on his hugely anticipated Australian tour. Due to this overwhelming demand, Kennedy is thrilled to add a third and final Sydney show which will see the platinum-selling artist join Jack Johnson as the one of the only two acts to play the Sydney Opera House Forecourt a massive three times!

The welcomed news of Dermot Kennedy’s third Sydney date comes as The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) today confirms that the Irish artist will attend the 2023 Award ceremony to present the Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award to its 2023 recipient.

Dermot Kennedy’s long-awaited second album Sonder was released 18 November 2022. To celebrate Dermot’s arrival down under and the one-year anniversary of the album, a very limited-edition Australian version of the album will be released on 17 November 2023. This special collector’s edition of Sonder includes two exclusive tracks and a special 12” art card by local artist Kylie Strachan numbered and signed by Dermot himself and is available to purchase here while stocks last.

The announcement of Sonder was highly anticipated by fans and critics alike since the global success of his debut album Without Fear. The title Sonder, the encapsulating phrase for “the realisation that each random passer-by is living a life as vivid and complex as your own”, instantly resonated with Dermot and transformed into the perfect way to tie up a feeling in a record.

Kennedy’s 2023 Australian tour will see him play his biggest outdoor shows yet, taking over Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Riverstage in Brisbane along with three huge nights at Sydney Opera House Forecourt this November / December.
