Having carefully laid a solid foundation last year for things to come, Sydney dream-pop outfit, Evan & The Brave are now announcing a bout of shows in the coming months to celebrate the release of the latest single and video ‘Rescuer’. The string of shows kick off this week with a show with Client Liason and include a five-week, Thursday night residency at the Moonshine Cider & Rum Bar in Manly for the month of July.
Their debut EP – Island – was released in 2013 and spawned the single ‘Stay This Way’, an infectious and airy track that was added to triple j rotation and saw the band opening the stage for some of Australia’s finest. Another track, ‘Something Starts’, also recieved airplay, but it’s their new single ‘Rescuer’ that’s arguably their finest yet, displaying frontman Daniel Mifsud’s penchant for penning the perfect hook. It’s another example of the slick production (from Tony Buchen), layered harmonies and heavy hooks.
