[News] GOLD CLASS RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND ANNOUNCE NATIONAL TOUR

Gold Class

Incendiary Melbourne quartet Gold Class return with new single ‘Twist In The Dark’, a potent mix of punk grandiosity and reckless abandon, produced by The Drone’s Gareth Liddiard. Premiered via Double J and The Line Of Best Fit this is the first release through the band’s new label home Barely Dressed Records and comes alongside the announcement of a HUGE national tour.

Rarely has punk music been so danceable. Pounding toms and bass that open into a churning guitar melody and Adam Curley’s booming and rhythmic voice, the track holds its breathless momentum until the final beat. Lead singer Curley states that with the song he wanted to “push everything further” and it certainly represents a giant leap forward from the band’s previous work in terms of sophistication, sonic clarity and hook after hook after hook.

Set to be on the road for much of 2017, Gold Class have been in lockdown working on new music, due later in 2017. In the meantime, ‘Twist In the Dark’ will be released as a limited edition 12” single with a remix by genre-destroying electro-visual duo friendships.

Gold Class’s 2015 debut album, It’s You, was something of an underground sleeper, seeing the band short-listed for the Australian Music Prize and sending them off to tour the USA and Europe throughout 2016. At home, the band continued to sell out shows and were welcomed by festival crowds, including those at Splendour In The Grass and Golden Plains.

Following the release of ‘Twist In The Dark’, Gold Class will embark on yet another UK and European tour, taking in The Great Escape festival in Brighton, Amsterdam’s London Calling festival and the esteemed Primavera Sounds in Barcelona. They return in July for their national Australian tour. You won’t want to miss them.
