[News] ILLY, PEKING DUK, GRINSPOON TO HEADLINE ICONIC CAMBRIDGE HOTEL FAREWELL FESTIVAL

The Cambridge Hotel is going out in style this coming June, it will be last drinks and lights on after three day festivals which will see a fitting end for the 70 year old iconic music venue.

The Cambridge Hotel Farewell Festival is shutting down the street and will run three events across three days Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of June, with headliners Illy, Peking Duk, and Grinspoon.

Get wrapped up in Friday’s Hip-Hop/Rap roster, with ARIA winner Illy headlining as well as legends 360 and Drapht, and fresh-faced hip-hop stars JK-47 and Triple One who will help bring The Cambo’s house lights on.

The Saturday sesh is headlined by vibe masters Peking Duk and The Rubens, high fizz will be brought throughout the day with electronic local legend Boo Seeka and Northeast Party House, and indie brilliance from Adam Newling.

The final day is set to be a heavy send off with grunge gods Grinspoon playing the last ever show, after a huge roster of rock legends including The Smith Street Band, Dune Rats, and British India, and new blood Hope D and The Hard Aches.

The three day lineup will round off 50 years of local and international stars including Silverchair, The Presets, The Black Keys, and The Buzzcocks.

An integral part of the Newcastle community, located in the West End of Newcastle’s CBD, The Cambridge has been programming local, national, and international acts of the highest quality since mid-last century.

There will be two stages, special guest appearances throughout the event, plenty of bars, food trucks to fuel up throughout the day, and official Farewell Cambridge merch for sale.

It’s closing time at The Cambridge Hotel and the last call is shaping up to be a send off to remember.

The Cambridge Farewell Festival will be an intimate party with limited capacity of 3500 lucky guests, so don’t hold back for last minute tickets as this event is sure to go quickly.
