Imogen Clark has today announced the album launch tour for her debut album, Love & Lovely Lies. The 21 year old is thrilled to be embarking on a national tour to celebrate the release of her 8-song collection, which enjoyed great success on its release on May 6th, charting in the Top 40 ARIA Country Album Chart at #34 and on the Top 20 Australian Artist Country Albums at #15.

This record means a lot to me. I’ve been learning about who I am and what I want to say for a long time and in this album, I hear the sound of self-discovery and the incredible fun we had recording it. I couldn’t be prouder of the record, and couldn’t be more thankful to everyone who has helped me along the way. These songs represent a sense of myself I’d never felt before now, and the most unforgettable year of my life so far. I hope people can hear some of their lives in it, too.

Love & Lovely Lies captures the pain and joy of entering adulthood and the search for self-belief. With her richly melodic voice and lyrics, Imogen will be taking her Album Launch Tour to metro and regional areas.

I love playing live. Next to songwriting, it’s my absolute biggest passion. I can’t wait to get out on the road again and bring these songs and stories, and this album I’m so proud of, to venues around Australia. See you out there!

Touted as a ‘songwriter well beyond her years’ – Kasey Chambers, Imogen took two years to write her debut album. Penned in her hometown of Bowen Mountain in New South Wales, she travelled to the small town of Cowwarr, Victoria late last year to record and co-produce her album with musicians Harry and Jack Hookey at Knutsens’ Studios. The first single released, ‘Take Me For A Ride’, peaked at #1 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart and was soon followed by the heartbreak ballad ‘You’ll Only Break My Heart’.

Imogen came to national and international attention with the release of her third independently released EP Stories from a Porcelain City (2013). Over the next two years, she continued working on songs for her first album while supporting and playing alongside the likes of Matt Corby, The McClymonts, Kasey Chambers and performing at Blue Mountains Folk Festival, Sydney Blues & Roots Festival, Sydney’s Vivid Festival and representing Australia twice at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville.
