Having first turned heads in 2018 with their debut single ‘Hayley’, Taylor Skye and Georgia Ellery (also of Black Country, New Road) met at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since then, they’ve continued to impress and keep fans on their toes with a string of weird and wonderful releases – whether it be the much loved EP Wicked City (released through Warp in 2020) or more recently their unanimously praised debut album I Love You Jennifer B, released through Rough Trade earlier this year.

It has always been the two friends’ sonic expertise that has allowed them to take listeners on a wild ride, jumping from powerful pop choruses to drill-inspired breaks, from classical violin to dancehall. Jockstrap carry an infectious energy that has garnered them attention and champions from all across the music world – including Jamie XX, Iggy Pop, Anna Meredith and Oneohtrix Point Never to name a few – and beyond. Their eclecticism and ability to appreciate the full spectrum of music is what makes Jockstrap so undeniably important, because they reflect the culture so perfectly.

With their debut album I Love you Jennifer B gaining momentum along with much deserved applause from critics and fans around the globe, Jockstrap are now readying themselves to hop the plane and head south to Australia for the first time.

February/March 2023 will see the pair thrill audiences in Sydney and Melbourne, whether it be those who have long followed them since the early releases or those who have more recently discovered them. Get ready: Jockstrap are coming.
