Influenced by Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, Ben Harper, Tracy Chapman and Police amongst many others, Knox has always loved music and playing instruments.

Headlining many music festivals in Fiji, Knox’s music journey has been varied including playing back to back with Kevin Borich of the famous Kevin Borich Express at the Fiji 2011 International Jazz and Blues Festival, performing as a backup singer with Kulture, supporting the late reggae legend Lucky Dube & Boney M back in 2006. He also worked on a movie featuring Status Quo. Farewelling one of Fiji’s renowned bands, The Knox Brotherhood, Knox is now building his solo career.

Knox speaks of his craft, “Music. . . . music is a religion, it is a way of life for those who wield it in their hands and live and die for it. As time goes by…as I discover the valleys, mountains, rivers, caves, the nooks and crannies of a musical and spiritual journey through the labyrinths in my mind, I find that the experience unravelling on the road in front of me is something that I have mapped out for myself years ago as a teenager with a dream…the dream to be different in order to make a difference.”

Knox released his album, Old Old Tree in 2010 and his single ‘Jah Love Jah Crucify’ (2007) which has 100 000+ hits on YouTube.

Knox now releases his debut single ‘Candy’ in April 2013 and will tour a string of shows along the East Coast of Australia in March and April 2013 with his 4 Piece Band featuring Cale Storer on Drums, Peter “Torch” Cunnington on Keyboards and Tim Shakespeare on Bass.

Knox will be performing at the Newcastle Uni Bar on the Hill on Thursday April 11 at 12.30pm.
