[News] TRIPLE J UNEARTHED ARTISTS ADDED TO LANEWAY FESTIVAL 2023

Laneway Festival is thrilled to welcome five local legends to the 2023 line-up! Joining the likes of Haim, Joji, Phoebe Bridgers and Fred again.., are our triple j Unearthed winners who are opening the Laneway Festival stage in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.

Joining us in Adelaide is post-punk six-piece Coldwave. Blending a buzz-saw twin guitar attack, booming horns, uncompromising vocals and a high-octane live set, Coldwave have become a favourite amongst Adelaide locals, pulling packed crowds in some of the city’s most beloved venues.

22-year-old singer-songwriter and producer Felivand will be opening up Laneway Festival in Brisbane with her unique brand of organic, textural alternative pop that combines shadowy, sombre tones beneath warm, earthen exteriors. Influenced by the likes of James Blake, Solange and Kali Uchis, her sophomore EP Nerve is a must-listen.

Abby Bella May will open Laneway Festival Sydney. A confessional and upfront lyricist, Abby Bella May’s music speaks to the mundane and the otherworldly, creating an intimate snapshot of youth. With soaring vocals and indie-pop production, the Sydney-based artist has been turning heads ever since the release of her debut EP I Am Sensitive, with sold-out shows across Sydney, Melbourne and Wollongong in 2021.

Nigerian-born Australian-raised PRICIE joins the Laneway Festival line-up in Melbourne. Since first bursting onto the scene with her larger-than-life debut single ‘too dang good’, PRICIE has impressed a long list of tastemakers from Australia and abroad. She recently teamed up with Genesis Owusu for the release of ‘FRIENDZONE’. With that and her electrifying live performance, she’s a star in the making.

Country-grunge singer-songwriter Siobhan Cotchin will open the last leg of Laneway Festival in Perth. The 22-year-old artist has a writing style that echoes the effortless musing of Phoebe Bridgers, and a live performance style as gusty as Joan Jett. This year, Cotchin picked up WAM awards for Best Country Act, Best EP and Best Vocalist — you better get in early for this one!

Joining our previously announced all-star cast, The Jungle Giants are another reason why Laneway Festival’s 2023 comeback is going to be truly unforgettable.

Driven by optimism, creative freedom and their desire to “go funny, go weird and not be scared”, each new album by The Jungle Giants paves the way for their continued metamorphosis. Expecting the unexpected has become the status quo.

With the delivery of their #1 ARIA charting fourth album Love Signs (2021), the beloved Australian band has hit dizzying heights. And their explosive live show catapults them even higher. We’ve got this one tipped as Laneway ‘23s loudest sing-along!
