[News] RAAVE TAPES ANNOUNCE NATIONAL TOUR + UNVEIL VIDEO FOR ‘SUDS’

Ready to embark on the SUDS national headline tour in Perth this week, Newcastle social architects RAAVE TAPES has announced a 17 act, three room venue take overfor their headline performance at The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle on Saturday 7 July. The stacked line up includes: Haiku Hands, Press Club, Vacations, Totty, Stump, Candy, Pals, E4444E, Grace Turner, Morgana Osaki, Raj Mahal, Georgia June, NTL Landmarks, India and the Journey to the East, Belle Badi + Zampa.

Infamous in Newcastle for their wild DIY parties, the trio commenced their crusade in 2016 with a takeover of the top level of the King Street Hotel in their hometown, selling out the 300 capacity room in half an hour. Thereafter, they hatched the RAAVE TAPES Winter Wonderland in a secret warehouse attracting 600 revellers and more recently, they Shut Down the Argyle House nightclub for a 20 act, three stage festival, featuring buzz acts including Kwame, Good Boy, Moaning Lisa, FRITZ, to name a few. With many other parties in between, the band continues to champion the vibrant city’s creative underbelly.

Renowned for their blistering and undeniably jubilant live sets, the dance-punk three-piece will perform nationally with a series of capital city and regional dates on the SUDSheadline national tour, with a Ballarat headline performance just announced for Sunday 10 June.

After thrilling crowds with their victorious set at Groovin The Moo Maitland, RAAVE TAPES has today revealed the visual accompaniment for ‘SUDS’. The video joins the announcement the dance-punk three-piece is set to embark on a headline national tour with a series of capital city and regional dates.

Directed by David Fulham (VACATIONS, Suburban Haze), the video for ‘SUDS’ is a compilation of irresponsible and unashamed behaviour. Staying true to RAAVE TAPES fun-loving, tongue-in cheek stylistic approach, the visuals perfectly communicate the importance of boundaries and awareness when interacting with others.

‘SUDS’ addresses the belief that intoxication isn’t an acceptable excuse for poor behaviour. This is the ethos RAAVE TAPES convey in their live show, where having fun is paramount – as long as it’s not at the expense of another individual.

Renowned for their blistering and undeniably jubilant live performances, RAAVE TAPES burst onto the scene in 2016 when they were handpicked by triple j Unearthed to perform at This That Festival. With the 2017 release of breakout singles ‘2 U XOXO’ and ‘k bye’, the band quickly harnessed an army of dedicated fans.

In the past year, RAAVE TAPES has completed a fifteen-date headline national tour, with multiple sold-out shows, were invited to perform with Northeast Party House, Hockey Dad and The Gooch Palms, in addition to sets at Festival of the Sun, Yours and Owls and Mountain Sounds.
