New music from REGI FLIH is finally here. Fresh off an outstanding run of singles, the anoymous artist drops a new project, Careless, with very little warning. No promo singles or title tracks; the project showcases REGI’s ability to translate his raw emotion into a catchy fusion of heartfelt R&B over modern-jazz inspired beats.
The seven-track collection takes us through a slightly different journey than we are used to with his previously released singles. With a stronger approach to his past relationships, and a big focus on a soothing new age R&B sound, REGI shows the side of him reminiscent of his second single, ‘Feeling Some Way’. In fact, that’s the only previously released song in the EP’s tracklist. It’s an openly emotional expedition, but REGI’s vocals are still as melodic and heavenly as ever. All this encased by world class production from frequent collaborator and labelmate, FRAAN, this EP was certainly worth the wait.
Accompanying the EP, there is a visual trailer previewing all the new tracks of the project. Each song is represented by a different tone and message taking the viewer through a range of emotions on the journey of life. The visualizers are a series of overexaggerated, experimental narratives lossely representing the timeline of death, water, air, fire, earth, and finally rebirth.
It extends the premise of being young and careless which is represented in the EP and loops it back full circle. This represents the end of his old lifestyle and the start of a new chapter for REGI FLIH.
