As the most hotly anticipated tour of the year draws closer, Frontier Touring are proud to confirm that a double dose of young Australian talent will be appearing as special guests at The Rolling Stones’ 14 On Fire Hanging Rock and Hope Estate outdoor shows.

Joining the already announced special guest – Jimmy Barnes, returning to his hometown to perform alongside The Stones at Adelaide Oval – are two of the most well-respected and much-loved outfits on the local music scene; British India and The Preatures. Both known for taking a retro rock sound and giving it a modern twist, they are the perfect complement to one of the most iconic rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time.

British India returned from Berlin earlier this month with album number five written, recorded and ready to be mixed. Lucky ticketholders at The Rolling Stones’ Hanging Rock and Hope Estate shows will be amongst the first to hear the new single from their upcoming fifth full-length release, as well as tracks from 2013’s Controller (out now through Liberation Music) like ‘Summer Forgive Me’ and ‘Blinded’, and selections from their illustrious back catalogue.

When you’re in the rock business like we are, The Rolling Stones make up a massive part of the musical landscape before you’ve even picked up a guitar. They’re one of the very few bands all four of us truly love and their music has sound-tracked our career since we started.

I think at the moment we’re not so much apprehensive or even excited, so much as we are honoured beyond words. It’s surreal to even make the connection that we’ll be on the same stage as the guys who shaped so much of our musical world and we’re determined to rise to the occasion. What can you say? As far as musical accolades go, it doesn’t get much better!’ – Declan Melia, British India

The band received their first ever gold record for hit single ‘I Can Make You Love Me’ earlier this year – a long time coming for four Melbourne school friends who have achieved three ARIA Top 10 album debuts, multiple ARIA and J Award nominations, five entries into triple j’s Hottest 100 and the AIR Award for ‘Best New Band’ over the course of their impressive career. British India will be wrapping up the year in style, taking the stage just before The Rolling Stones at Hanging Rock and opening proceedings at the Hope Estate show.

Before even releasing their debut album, Sydney five-piece The Preatures have played mind-blowing sets at Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Splendour In The Grass and Coachella, performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, received a bevy of awards and an ARIA nomination, and have a gold-certified single to their name. This October, they can add supporting The Rolling Stones to this list as they kick off the fun at Hanging Rock and follow British India at Hope Estate.

When we heard there was a chance of supporting The Rolling Stones, we tried not to think about it, in case it didn’t happen. When we actually got the nod from them, we went in to shock and we still are!’ – Gideon Benson, The Preatures.

The past eighteen months have been massive for the band; starting with breakthrough hit ‘Is This How You Feel’ which earned the band first prize in the Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition, ‘Best Rock Song’ in the International Songwriting Competition and the #9 spot in 2013’s triple j Hottest 100. Toe-tapping singles ‘Better Than It Ever Could Be’ and ‘Two Tone Melody’ followed suit, seeing the band pick up both local and international acclaim:

The future is looking even brighter for The Preatures, having confirmed this morning that their highly anticipated debut Blue Planet Eyes will be released on September 26, 2014, through Universal Music. Make sure you catch them at The Rolling Stones’ Australian outdoor shows to get a taste of the ‘delicious grooves, hip-hugging basslines and choruses that just won’t quit’.

In addition to the exciting news of The Rolling Stones’ local special guests, Frontier Touring are pleased to announce that a final release of general admission tickets at Hope Estate will be available for purchase from 10am local time next Monday 1 September. With one of the biggest bands in the world making their much-awaited return plus the promise of two of the country’s hottest new talents on the bill, these tickets will not last long – get in quick or miss out!
