Australian alt-rock artist Tyne-James Organ embarks on a fresh chapter with the release of ‘Blue’ (out through Dew Process), the first cut of new music since gaining rapturous critical attention for his album Necessary Evil in 2021. ‘Blue’ delivers heartfelt honesty with his most expansive production to date, building upon the solid foundation he has already established as an artist.
To support the release of ‘Blue’, Organ will embark on a headline tour playing Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne with special guests, Perth indie outfit Death by Denim. Tyne’s live performances have become a must-see in Australia, with multiple sold-out national tours and appearances at prestigious festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Party in the Paddock, Yours & Owls and Fairgrounds.

The captivating track provides a heart-warming glimpse into Organ’s bond with his mother as she guides and supports him through one of the lowest points in his life, when his father passed away. With evocative guitars swirling around, Tyne sings from his mother’s perspective, assuring him that the world still needs him.

“There was something extraordinary about the origin of the song—the day we wrote it, the atmosphere in the room,” Organ reflects on its creation alongside producer Chris Collins (Royel Otis, Gretta Ray, Budjerah), who also worked on his debut record. The songs vulnerability is met with a breath-taking climax of soaring vocals and thunderous drums. Interestingly the final version is “essentially the demo,” Organ reveals, confessing that he attempted to re-record the vocals but ultimately returned to the raw and uncut original takes that captured the outpouring of emotion during the song’s inception. Organ aspires to infuse his new music with a “full-bodied feel,” a goal flawlessly realised in this offering.
Accompanying today’s single is a black-and-white music video which stands as a testament to Organ’s unfiltered communication. Directed by Organ himself and shot and edited by Mikey Conlon, it captures him and his band (Kelton Hirst, Andrew Banovich and Jack Moffitt) in a spine-tingling moment, performing directly to the camera. No tricks, just pure artistry.
With over 18 million global streams to date, Tyne’s debut EP Persevere is certified Gold by ARIA. Necessary Evil debuted #9 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts and received attention on triple j, most notably ‘Sunday Suit’ claiming the 94th spot in triple j’s Hottest 100 countdown for 2021. Internationally, he has garnered airplay on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio 1 ‘R1 Future Artists’ show.
