After months on the road, WINTERBOURNE have today revealed brand new material from their forthcoming EP Pendulum, released Friday May 27th and available to pre-order now. Released today is the powerful upbeat new single ‘Shape’ and dates of their National Pendulum Tour. For their fans who pre-order via iTunes the six-track Pendulum EP, they will instantly receive tracks ‘Shape’ and ‘To Get To Know You’.

It’s been two years since Winterbourne released their debut EP All But the Sun which peaked at #9 on the iTunes Albums Chart. For the Central Coast duo it was an auspicious introduction, but not surprisingly, there’s been a lot of hard work done since then. Festival appearances, national supports (Patrick James, Little May, The Rubens), a headline tour and constant writing sessions have kept best friends James Draper and Jordan Brady busy and away from home but their dedicated work ethic has certainly paid dividends with the release of Pendulum.

For production on EP, Winterbourne looked to Andy Mak (Vera Blue) whom they previously worked with on their debut EP in 2014. Where All But the Sun tipped its hat to an earthy, intimate shot of neo-folk, Pendulum takes Draper and Brady in a different direction altogether, with their love of The Beatles filtering through a kaleidoscope of modern influences to create something at once familiar and fresh.

That new direction is stamped out by, ‘To Get To Know You’, which takes the heart and soul of the duo’s earlier work and transforms it into something else altogether. The same spirit permeates the whole of Pendulum – ‘But I Do’ is stomping, psychedelic rock & roll and newest single ‘Shape’ casts Winterbourne’s familiar harmonies against a driving, urgent backbeat, and closer ‘When I’m Under’ evolves from a gentle acoustic lilt into majestic, multi-layered magic. It is music that could only be built on the sort of friendship Draper and Brady enjoy – bold, but honest to its roots.

Winterbourne’s live show has had critics falling over themselves, describing them as “delightful, talented and genuinely wondrous to watch…with a distinctive command of the stage and connection, and intoxicating energy” (Rip It Up).
