[News] ALFIE TEMPLEMAN ANNOUNCES DEBUT AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE SHOWS

British sensation Alfie Templeman has announced debut headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne this June. The 19-year-old will also perform as special guest for The Wombats on their Australian national arena tour. To celebrate, he shares his new track ‘Leaving Today’ taken from his joyous, heavily-anticipated debut album Mellow Moon.

Commenting on ‘Leaving Today’ – which is co-produced by Alfie and Tom McFarland from Jungle – Templeman says: “Leaving Today was written about what it would be like to go on tour again after so long. Getting far away from home and sitting in that van for hours thinking about all the small things you never realised you missed so much. It’s the first song I’ve played Cello on, I tried to layer up multiple different parts as if it was a mini orchestra of terrible cello players! Tom was super encouraging with the Cello stuff, and he added some really gorgeous production, all the oohs you hear at the start are him.

Alfie has just completed his first ever UK and European headline tour which included sold-out shows in Manchester, Bristol, Brighton, and his biggest UK show to date at the capital’s Shepherds Bush Empire.

The breakout star will be heading to Australia for the first time this June to perform as special guest for The Wombats in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane. He will also take the stage for two exclusive headline shows on Tuesday 14 June at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney, and Thursday 16 June at Howler in Melbourne.
