If there was one act Bluesfest Festival Director Peter Noble was desperate to secure, it was Paolo Nutini. It had been eight years since the Scottish singer songwriter had toured, so when word got out that Paolo may be touring, the Bluesfest booking team went into overdrive to secure him.

And secure him they did! Paolo Nutini is one of seven new artists announced today to play at Bluesfest 2023 on the Easter weekend in Byron Bay.

Other artists announced today include: The Angels, Ash Grunwald, Backsliders, The Bros. Landreth, Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and Yirrimal.

The site improvements on the Bluesfest property continue with over $500k invested in upgrading and waterproofing. Every aspect of the customer experience is being evaluated and where possible, improved.

Here’s the list of new artists on the Bluesfest 2023 bill!

Eight-time GRAMMY® winner BECK (acoustic) to appear at Bluesfest for the first time ever!

Musical genius BECK will grace the stage for the first-time next year at Bluesfest 2023, making him the 50th artist to be announced for the festival, held over the Easter long weekend in Byron Bay. BECK will play an intimate and unique acoustic show, which has earned rave reviews from key publications around the world.

Since Beck emerged as a reluctant generational spokesperson when ‘Loser’” exploded from a rejected 1992 demo into a ubiquitous 1994 smash, his career has explored all genres and eras of music, blurred boundaries and blazed a path into the future while foraging through the past.

In just over 26 weeks, the 34th Annual Bluesfest’s gates will open for what they are promoting to be the most exciting Bluesfest ever.

With today’s artist announcement, they have now rolled out 47 artists on the already mammoth Bluesfest 2023 line-up. They have also reported continuing development of the festival site, to make for a game-changing festival experience over the Easter Long Weekend held in the Byron Shire, from Thursday 6 April – Monday 10 April 2023.

This morning, Bluesfest have announced The Doobie Brothers, bringing their 50th Anniversary Tour to the festival stage on closing night – Easter Monday, April 10. The band are still smashing attendance records, and rightly so with some of the classic line-up still performing today – Michael McDonald has re-joined the band, alongside Patrick Simmons, Tom Johnston, and John McFee. Their legion of fans will be able experience a coming together of what many may call “THE CLASSIC DOOBIE BROTHERS COMBINATION”.

Next on the line-up addition list is winner of the Americana Album of the year, Allison Russell, playing Bluesfest 2023 on Easter Saturday & Sunday.

Bluesfesters will also see Counting Crows (Easter Saturday), the forever unwavering on-stage-energy of Vintage Trouble (Good Friday & Easter Saturday), PLUS the mighty return of Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and St Paul & the Broken Bones (both performing on Opening Night of Bluesfest 2023 – Thu 6 April, and on Good Friday 7 April).

It’s going to be a Bluesfest to remember with some of the world’s finest contemporary and legendary Blues, Roots, Soul, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, World and Americana music artists… and more!

1-Day and 3-Day tickets will also go on sale today (soon after the artist announcement) at a special price which will only be available for a limited time before we increase to the standard price. Camping for 1-Day & 3-Day festival goers will also be available to purchase next week!

Stand by for further announcements on two special satellite events happening in Melbourne and Perth, as well as side shows from some of this amazing line up.

1 September 2022

In just 31 weeks the 34th Annual Bluesfest’s gates will open for what promises to be the most exciting Bluesfest ever. Some of the finest contemporary and legendary Blues, Roots, Soul, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, World and Americana music artists (and more) are confirmed to appear for the first original style Bluesfest since the world’s borders re-opened. After a hugely successful 2022, that featured the best of predominantly Australian and NZ artists, it’s time to mix it up again. For the first time since 2019, Bluesfest is free and unencumbered to showcase the finest genres of music from all over the globe.

This is an incredible opening line up – over 40 artists alone in this first announcement – with more to come.

And more good news is that ticket prices, camping and VIP tickets remain the same as 2022’s prices. That’s despite the significant increase in cost of international flights and freight logistics, with artists fees also on the rise. Bluesfest will also invest in upgrading the VIP area to raise the VIP experience to new heights. For the campers that seek a ‘class above’ experience you can upgrade to the Rainbow Tipi accommodation this year [with a modest increase in price] as well as experience further improvements with the onsite rental tents.

The 365 days a year site improvement on the Bluesfest property continue… “Since last year we’ve invested over $500k upgrading and waterproofing the Bluesfest site. Both myself and my team are currently looking at every single aspect of the Bluesfest experience to ensure it’s of the highest quality possible” said Peter Noble OAM.

Today, Bluesfest release 5-day tickets, and VIP tickets at the same 2022 price points. On site camping options also go on sale today at the same prices as 2022 for those who pitch their tents and vans. In the coming weeks Bluesfest will release more of the line-up, along with the artist play dates so that both day-trippers and 3-day ticket holders can make an informed choice.
