[News] BOO SEEKA AND CUSTARD TO HEADLINE BITTER AND TWISTED 2019

Newcastle soul-tronic duo Boo Seeka and iconic Brisbane band Custard will headline the 2019 Bitter and Twisted Boutique Beer Festival, when it returns to Maitland Gaol on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November.

After a year of non-stop touring, and several months working away in the studio, Boo Seeka revealed their new single ‘Rush’ in January and will take to the stage at Bitter and Twisted on Saturday 2 November with their smooth vocals and pulsating electro sounds, blended with spacey synth layered on top of rolling hip hop grooves and beats.

Iconic Australian band Custard formed in Brisbane in 1990 and produced a parade of memorable singles, several of which became entrenched in Australian pop music history. The group disbanded in 1999 before playing a handful of reunion shows and venturing back into the studio in 2015. The result was Come Back all is Forgiven, the band’s first album in 16 years. Custard will headline Sunday’s line up at Bitter and Twisted 2019.

Also confirmed to join Boo Seeka and Custard are Bullhorn, The Hi-Boys, Burger Joint and The Long Johns, in addition to local acts Kookshill, Rubix Cuba and Lili Crane.

Council’s Events Officer Beth Anastasiou says, “We’re thrilled to have these headliners and all the other bands coming to Bitter & Twisted this November. We’ve got an awesome mix of genres, with local and interstate acts. All this is in addition to a range of twisted entertainment which will be particularly out of the ordinary this year.”
