[News] BROODS RELEASES ‘SPACE ISLAND’ + RESCHEDULES AUSTRALIA TOUR

Frequent and much-loved visitors to Australia, New Zealand-bred BROODS, today release their fourth album Space Island. The eagerly anticipated 10-track LP, mostly self-written and produced at their home studio in Los Angeles, includes the blissed-out singles ‘Piece Of My Mind’, ‘Heartbreak’ and ‘Like A Woman’.

To celebrate Space Island’s release, sibling duo Georgia and Caleb Nott share visuals for album track ‘I Keep’, featuring BROODS’ longtime collaborator Tove Lo who adds her luminous vocal work for the unsparing piece of self-reflection. Created by Vinyl Williams (visuals) and Jack McEntee (typography), the lyric video sits perfectly alongside the already released sci-fi inspired video trilogy as well as enhancing the hypnotic feel of the dreamy indie-pop track.

Ten-time New Zealand Music Award-winning BROODS have also shared rescheduled dates for the Australian leg of their global Space Island Tour. Due to the ongoing pandemic and related travel complications, shows for Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne have now moved to April 2022.

BROODS dive into the new year with the release of ‘Like A Woman’, the rousing third single from the brother/sister duo’s new studio album Space Island – Out Friday February 18th.

Unquestionably one of the most gripping moments on Space Island, ‘Like a Woman’ encompasses a wildly shapeshifting sound. After opening on a sudden burst of harmony, the track retreats into desolate stillness before building to a gorgeously explosive bridge. Meanwhile, lead vocalist Georgia Nott’s distinctive voice drifts from tender to soulful to impossibly fragile in its potent expression of the pain of being undermined.

BROODS release their new single ‘Heartbreak’ and announce the release of their fourth full-length studio album Space Island on February 18th, 2022.

As one of Australia’s most loved acts, BROODS have also announced they will be heading back to Australia in March 2022, for their Space Island Tour, their first live headline shows since 2019.

‘Heartbreak’ is a song that embodies a certain enchanted quality as the band delve into complex subject matter. With its serpentine grooves, shimmering textures and synths that conjure a bit of space-age psychedelia, ‘Heartbreak’ fully epitomizes the prismatic musicality at the heart of Space Island.
