[News] GOOD TIMES FESTIVAL 2022 CANCELLED

A message from the Good Times team:

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of Good Times for 2022.

We had high hopes that we would be able to bring you some good old fashioned good times in the wonderful town of Tocumwal this summer, but sadly with current restrictions and this being a community event, we have made the tough decision to put our plans on hold till 2023.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all ticket holders for your ongoing support, along with the artists, sponsors and suppliers who we know are equally sad they won’t get to give back to regional NSW and come together with you salt of the earth folk this year.

All ticket holders will receive an automatic refund this week and we hope you’ll join us in March 2023 to show Tocumwal the love it deserves.

Keep your spirits high and the soul warm with some blues, rock and soul music at home in the meantime and we’ll be back when we have confirmed dates for 2023.

Thanks for understanding and sticking with us on this wild ride.”

Start prepping social butterflies; 2022 is going to be jam-packed! Pack your best swimsuit, sunscreen, hat and towel, get ready to soak up the warmth of summer on the banks of the glorious Murray River in the picturesque township of Tocumwal, NSW and let the Good Times roll!

They say there is a rainbow after every storm, and here at Good Times, we have a rainbow of Teskey proportions after a couple of stormy false starts!

GOOD TIMES FESTIVAL

FEBRUARY 12 & 13, 2022
Tocumwal, NSW

Josh Teskey & Ash Grunwald || Sam Teskey
Cash Savage & The Last Drinks || Emma Donovan & The Putbacks
Surprise Chef || Floodlights || Benny Walker
and more to be announced!

We are ecstatic to announce new dates of February 12 & 13, 2022. With not one but TWO Teskey’s. Josh Teskey and Ash Grunwald will be re-joining the Good Times lineup this Feb, as will Sam Teskey with his live band; fourth time’s a Teskey charm!

Cash Savage and The Last Drinks will bring the full formidable force of their infectious political rock to Toc, alongside the sublime sounds of Emma Donovan & The Putbacks.

Cinematic soul journeymen Surprise Chef, Floodlights with their catchy ‘80s alternative rock melded with ‘90s New Zealand jangle-pop, and blues singer/songwriter Benny Walker will join us, with many more to be announced.

On Saturday, the closure of Deniliquin St will transform Tocumwal’s main drag. Discover a prohibition-era Speakeasy Bar hidden in a heritage-listed building, have your palm read by a fortune teller in the Antiques Store, challenge yourself to a game of “relatively serious” pub backgammon, or simply enjoy the stellar live music program.

Soak up the summer sun this February as we take over the historic main street of Tocumwal with some of Australia’s best live blues, rock and soul musicians, great food and even better company.

Try your chances at a fairly serious pub backgammon tournament. Have your palm read by a fortune teller in the local antique store. Or just kick back with a G&T at the luxurious Archie Rose speakeasy bar. All entertainment is family friendly. 100% of funds raised will be donated to local community groups and charities.

Good Times Festival was created to reinvigorate community spirit in Tocumwal, which alongside several regional areas, has been hit hard due to the pandemic. The intention has always been to boost tourism and visitation to the picturesque township nestled along the Murray.

Good Times is a new event for the whole family that celebrates live music, art, food, workshops and local delights of this stunning village.

Word for the organisers –

Friends,

We are devastated to say that Good Times will not be going ahead in 2021. We will however, be back in 2022.

When we launched this community event the pathway was looking clear. Case levels were low, the world’s eyes were on Australia as a hopeful example of normal life. Unfortunately, the pandemic had plans of its own.

The team has been working away behind the scenes pre-empting the changing landscape. Artists had been booked, suppliers engaged, experts consulted & reconsulted, backup plans made, remade and adapted. However, with current numbers and government policy on vaccination Good Times just is not feasible this year.

We are still committed to delivering a new live music event that raises funds for the Tocumwal community, as they will need our support more than ever when things open up.

We will be automatically refunding all ticket holders in full (excluding booking fee) over the next 2 weeks and then coming to you when we have new plans in place for Good Times 2022.

Please also remember to cancel any accommodation or transport you may had booked independently.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and the support you’ve shown to Good Times, this isn’t goodbye, just see you next year.

In the meantime keep spirits high and support your local communities in whichever way you can.

Love,
Good Times

22 July 2021

You know the drill, no getting down in a lockdown; Good Times has announced the new dates of September 24 & 25, 2021. Third times a charm, we won’t let anything stand in the way of allowing the Good Times to roll!

Unfortunately, Josh Teskey and Ash Grunwald can’t make this new date; they have signed on to play Good Times 2022. Never fear, Sam Teskey is here! Josh’s equally talented brother Sam has stepped in to grace the stage, bringing his full band, playing songs from his debut solo album Cycles.

The rest of the line-up, program and venues will all remain the same, and all donation-based tickets remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for the next seven days for any ticket holders who cannot attend the new dates – ticket holders will be contacted directly with details.

11 June 2021

Good Times has announced a postponement to the new dates of July 30 & 31, 2021.

While we are glad to see restrictions easing in Victoria we do not have sufficient clarity on cross border travel and quarantine requirements to ensure our Victorian-based patrons and artists can easily travel to Tocumwal on 18 & 19 June.

The line-up, program and venues will all remain the same, and all donation-based tickets remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for the next 7 days for any ticket holders who cannot attend the new dates – ticket holders will be contacted directly with details.

Good Times Festival was created to reinvigorate community spirit in Tocumwal, which alongside several regional areas, has been hit hard due to the pandemic. The intention has always been to boost tourism and visitation to the picturesque township nestled along the Murray. Giving local businesses enough time to plan and purchase supplies was a major consideration for organisers in deciding to postpone.

Given the times we are in, we have had a backup date in place with artists, staff, suppliers and the local community from day one. We’re confident postponing is the right decision to ensure we can bring as much tourism back to the area as possible,” said co-promoter Tara Benney. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and strongly encourage you wait a little longer for the Good Times to roll! Hold on to your tickets – every dollar raised goes back to the local community.”
