‘SOMEWHERE’ ELSE SINGLE TOUR

Friday November 29 – Oxford Art Factory Gallery Bar, Sydney, NSW

Tinged with punk flair, pained vocals and a sing-a-long quality, ‘Somewhere Else’ reflects on self esteem, snatching attention with crying lyrics like: “I’m slowly learning how to trust myself, ’til then just give me some room to breathe“.

Introvert drummer Stephen Hopkins explains that the line “If I was someone different now, would it be too late?” cuts to the core of the track, and captures the essence of the last couple of years for the band.

This line has a scary amount of relevance to everything during the passed three years,” he says. “I think all of us at one point have had a low opinion of ourselves and wondered if everyone could do better without us. It’s also a sneaky little reference to our first three track release Old Taste, which was basically born out of the same chaotic relationship moments we went through writing this song. It involved giving up on it and trying again multiple times to get it done – that part is also slightly too relevant to the last few years.

After emerging in 2015, Introvert quickly stamped their name on the local alternative scene for their assured and infectious brand of punk. Fuelled by support from triple j the outfit were quickly snatched up to play Groovin’ The Moo 2017 as the Unearthed guest, and went on to support the likes of AFI, Trophy Eyes, Balance And Composure and Hellions that year. After signing to UNFD and releasing their stand out single ‘December’, Introvert played UNIFY Gathering in 2018 and have been writing towards their next output since.

With ‘Somewhere Else’ now at hand, Introvert are poised to make big moves across the punk space before too long. They’ll play headline shows in Melbourne on November 22 and Sydney on November 29, with tickets available HERE.
